Abstract
Conflicts between national constitutional or common law and decisions by international athletic organizations have created a tug of war between individual athletes and the IOC. Caught in the middle of this conflict are both authorities. This Note discusses the organizations that govern Olympic competition and the risks to their authority created by conflicting directives from the IOC and individual national courts.
